What Does This Mean for Ecoblend®?
Ecoblend, the sustainable construction material range is now more widely available thanks to new rail freight operations serving Ashford in Kent. This development strengthens Ecoblend’s mission to deliver high-performance recycled and manufactured products while reducing reliance on road transport.
Greater Access for Kent Projects
The new Ashford railhead makes it easier for contractors and developers across Kent to source Ecoblend materials with speed and reliability. Acting as a dedicated logistics hub, it will ensure consistent supply for projects across the region.
“This new operation allows us to better support contractors and developers in Kent by providing reliable access to our high-performance materials,” said Adam Day, Contracts Director at Day Aggregates. “It reflects our ongoing commitment to offering practical, low-carbon solutions that support sustainable building practices.”
Delivering Real Environmental Benefits
By moving bulk materials to rail, Ecoblend is actively cutting congestion and vehicle emissions in Kent and beyond. Each trainload replaces around 75 lorry journeys, contributing to regional goals for a cleaner and more efficient construction supply chain.
“This is not just a logistical improvement, it’s a meaningful step towards lowering the carbon footprint of construction supply chains,” added Nick Sadler, Operations Director at Day Aggregates.
Powering Kent’s Construction Growth
With the Ashford railhead in place, Ecoblend is well positioned to support housing, highways, and infrastructure projects throughout Kent, including Canterbury, Folkestone, and Dover. As demand for construction continues to rise, this investment ensures Ecoblend products are available where and when they are needed.
